Hi there!
My name is Ainslie Alder and this is my portfolio.
Ever since I could talk, I have loved to question why things are the way they are.
As much as I love routine, (a Virgo through and through, if that means anything to you) I am a strong advocate for shaking things up and pushing forward.

Over the years, I have discovered my true passion for collaborating with inspiring individuals to create memorable experiences. I always ensure to mold these around what I, and others in my various communities, value. Whether that be through my love of sharing via social media or throwing fun and unique events to fill the gaps in our community.

As a lover of social media, the Arts, and deciphering why people love the things they do, I strive to capture the attention of those who want MORE!
Having completed my university studies at QUT in 2019 with a Bachelor of Entertainment Industries minoring in Journalism, I have established several projects that I am passionate about and seek to progress my career in event management and marketing. Following graduation, I have helped produce many successful events and look forward to continuing this work.

The following is the culmination of the biggest steps in my career thus far...
PolarFest 2022
At the beginning of The Pandemic, I teamed up with Andrew Jeffreys, of local band Grizzlyshark and not-for-profit social enterprise and record label Deaf Cult Initiative. Our aim was to provide Brisbane’s underrepresented hardcore music scene with an all-day music festival, the likes of which have not been seen for years. Delayed by Covid-19 restrictions, we decided to convert the festival into mini-shows at Greaser Bar in Fortitude Valley until now. In 2022, we can finally bring the full realisation of our PolarFest music festival to Brisbane!

The PolarFest team has worked resiliently to curate an action-packed music festival for Brisbane’s hardcore music fans. Thus far, my roles have included; drafting contracts; assembling, and fulfilling marketing plans as well as collaborating on marketing content; and team and project timeline management.
Hidden Gems Arts Fair 2.0
The Hidden Gems Arts Fair is my pride and joy. This recurring pop-up event showcases and assists the success of local artists, whilst providing entertainment for art enthusiasts in a uniquely immersive experience. My role in this project included social media management; basic graphic design; careful styling and curation of artists; budgeting; managing the efficiency of the team’s progress with GANTT charts and thorough communication; and monitoring the event day using runsheets and floorplans. Our small team at Hidden Gems Arts Fair hope to continue to curate and deliver our dream markets to Brisbane in the future.

Social media campaigns I have run.
DC Services Group
In 2022, I pitched a marketing campaign to a local trade services company, DC Services Group. Their social media presence did not align with their desired persona and their accounts were not regularly maintained. Since joining their team, their interactions and followers have increased, customer satisfaction is up, and the Directors are more satisfied with their digital image.

Controlling social media accounts (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Google account – monitoring reviews, correspondence etc.)
Breakfast Creek Hotel
Beginning as a bartender at Breakfast Creek Hotel in November of 2020, I quickly made my way into the Functions Team where I supervised and ran private functions (often several at once). After making my mark and streamlining the Functions Team, by mid-2021, I was assisting the Marketing and Functions Manager with the comprehensive organisation of functions (E.g. runsheets, stock management, liaising with the Head Chefs, and preparing set-up requirements).
My main role was to assist in managing the venue’s Instagram and Facebook accounts by collecting and scheduling of daily social media content and responding to any interactions. Additionally, I planned and ran a small photoshoot to update our content for new products and spaces; designed individual menus on Canva for private functions; managed the raffle competition for the 2022 Breakfast Creek Flood Appeal, liaised with the artist green room, and assisted in the overall running of the event; and updated the invoice auditing via a macro event management system called "IVVY".
